what were they thinking? Why is it screaming at me? Is it mad at me? What did I do? lol Its HGSS sprite is nice, its DPPl sprite is nice, its RSE sprite is nice, but then you get back to FRLG and it's like. Then look at Lapras where it's really dependent on the game you're playing (and personal opinion, I guess). Gen 4 isn't bad at all, but it's easy for me to choose a favorite. Like for example, Ditto in Gen 3 is much better than Gen 4. Kind of a toss-up because in many ways I'd say I prefer Gen 3 (FRLG for Gen 1 Pokemon, though, because some older Pokemon look a bit derpy in RSE and had to be fixed for the remakes), but HGSS isn't bad at all.
Some of the front sprites are really good, but the animation of other still 2D sprites doesn't work for me at all. I don't care for Liepard's back sprite, for example, in Black because it just looks like a bunch of squares forming what I assume to be my Pokemon. They look all blocky, too, because of it. Gen 5 is the bottom of my list, though, because I hate the animated sprites almost universally.
